  We had such a great experience with Smooth Photo Scanning, and I really can't recommend them enough.<br><br>We brought them a very old book with Sanskrit/Devanagari text, which turned out to be a much more complicated project than a standard book scan. Brandon took the time to go through the book, understand exactly what we were trying to accomplish, and talk through the different options with us.<br><br>One of the biggest challenges was the OCR. Devanagari wasn't compatible with the typical OCR programs they normally work with, but instead of just telling us it couldn't be done, Brandon independently researched different OCR programs and tested several options on our pages. He spent a lot of extra time trying to find something that might actually work for us which was so above and beyond of him.<br><br>The scanning itself was incredible. The book was scanned completely non-destructively, with absolutely no damage to it, and the quality of the finished images is beautiful. We were hone

  Absolutely recommend these folks over any other choice.<br>Provided old VHS and 8mm videotapes for conversion to digital.<br>Several of the videotapes were ripped or damaged.<br>They charged a very small amount to conduct the repairs before digitizing the videos.<br><br>At the completion of the effort, several old videotapes were either blank, had tv shows, or just weren't family movies (they were so old - I forgot what was on them) - the company didn't charge me for those.<br>Also didn't charge me for any tapes that couldn't be repaired.<br>This is the only company that treats you kindly.<br><br>This is the only company you should consider for your videotape digitization - to save old memories.

  I brought in 17 beta tapes from an old camcorder and within a week and a half they were put on a thumb drive! Excellent service, really nice people that work there! I highly recommend! It was so nice to be able to share these videos from almost 30 years ago with my grown children! They loved seeing themselves as little kids.

  I'm an artist. I had over 1200 slides of most every painting or drawing I have ever done and needed them digitalized so i could put them up on my website. I literally worried about doing this for years before getting up the courage; worried about entrusting my life's work to ANYONE. I'll just say I felt led to Smooth Photo. I knew they were the right people from the first conversation on. Small operation. Felt like family. Very responsive to my concerns. Came through beautifully.

  Great experience overall. I brought in my paintings to be scanned and they had everything done same day, which I really appreciated. The customer service was very friendly , professional, and made the process smooth. The quality came out exactly how I needed. Definitely a solid spot if you're an artist looking to get your work digitized . I will be back for sure .

  Irreplaceable family photos lost -- no resolution. After using Smooth Photo Scanning in the past, I decided to give them another try for a large and complicated photo order. Most scans were fine, but four large items -- including a painting by my late mother and a blueprint of the home my family grew up in -- were never scanned, and returned, though I was not charged.<br><br>I contacted the company multiple times. The owner claimed he looked for the items but adamantly denied I sent them, was unhelpful and offered no resolution.<br><br>These items are irreplaceable and caused a lot of distress. I filed complaints with the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau to no avail.<br><br>I would think twice before using this company.
