  It was my third time at Hackensack Meridian Physical and Rehabilitation Center at the Essex location.<br>This last visit wasn't a good experience. Every time I was getting a different therapist. I didn't get much attention as most of the therapists were working with other patients at the same time. I really didn't know whether or not I was doing the right exercise for my hips. This place gets very busy. Another inconvenience, every time I called the office , I could never get through the main desk to change my appointment times. Overall, I was getting frustrated for all these moments so I decided to go somewhere else where I receive the attention I need.

  I would like to especially thank my physical therapist, Damas Istrophe, PT. He has been key in my recovery. From the very first session, he was very professional, attentive, and patient. He always took the time to really listen to me and carefully work on my condition.<br>I had been dealing with this pain for a long time and had not improved before, but with his treatment I have noticed real progress. His dedication and the way he explains and guides each exercise gave me a lot of confidence throughout the process.<br>I also want to mention that the place is very nice, clean, and well organized, and the other staff members are very kind and respectful, which makes the experience even better.<br>I am very grateful for his work and I highly recommend him.

  I visited this clinic seeking physical therapy for a stiff neck, likely caused by long hours sitting at the computer. I felt generally fine--no accident, no surgery--just wanted to improve my neck mobility and function. They told me it would be a $30 co-pay per session, which sounded reasonable, so I agreed to proceed.<br><br>However, I was surprised to later be charged $435 for an initial evaluation that only involved verbal questions--no real physical exam based on my understanding or X-ray analysis. Worse, I found out that this evaluation isn't covered by insurance until the deductible is met. Just a heads-up for anyone considering going: be very clear about what is and isn't covered before starting, although I don't think you can avoid the evaluation cost.
