  Very disappointed with this town at this point. Me and my wife moved here 5 years ago in hopes of starting our family here. We eventually did have our first child who happens to be autistic. We thought this would still be a good town to raise him in and get him the help he needs and let me tell you it has been the opposite of that. The schools of Lyndhurst only offer half day programs. We tried to get more or sent to a different district but they told us "he is meeting their criteria so he won't be sent anywhere else". This was just the start of all the headaches we have been dealing with. To keep it short I will just state our "last" experience. We sent him to the summer program this year and he has come home everyday soaked from them not changing his diaper enough times. When my wife questioned it they immediately got attitude and told her to "make sure he has a fresh diaper when he comes in". Sounds like laziness and neglect to me.   Everyone are terrible there. They don't do the job

  The special education department is terrible. They do not listen to parent concerns at all. They call it a special education "TEAM" however in the meetings they force the parents into keeping their children in small isolated classrooms. They do not believe in inclusion at all. They keep the disabled children in small classes away from the other children.
