I have been training in Kumdo (Kendo) at HMK since 2017. What an amazing journey it has been, and continues to be. Everyone is patient, kind, and helpful. It really is a family-like atmosphere, with fellow members always encouraging each other to learn and succeed. All the masters (especially Master Jo) are extremely knowledgable and skillful with their instruction. My spouse also trains here and we are awaiting the day our child is old enough to join us for practice!<br><br>The diversity in the students, friendly atmosphere, and passion for training --- all bundled with top notch masters --- makes this an excellent place to learn and practice Kumdo/Kendo.

I joined HMK with my then thirteen year old son. It has been two years since I began my training with Master Jo and I can say this is the best I have felt in a decade. the time spent training and competing with my son has also built a lifetime of memories and helped develop a deeper bond between us. We are now part of a larger and supportive family at HMK .

After stopping Kumdo due to life events I was looking to get back into it and considered quite a few of the schools in the area. As soon as I stepped foot inside HMK I was immediately struck by a sense of family that I haven't felt in a while. Everyone there from master to student is terrific and look out for each other. They have been very patient with my journey back in to fitness and everyone is eager to help. Master Jo in particular strikes a fanatic balance between being friendly and open as well as being strict when need to help you push yourself to be better.

My family and I have been training here for years. It's been a great experience and I'm thankful to Master Jo for everything he's done for me and my family. It's helped us grow as individuals and as a family.Thank you HMK and Master Jo.
