  Hasbrouck Heights imposes some of the highest property taxes in Bergen County while delivering appallingly inadequate municipal services and allowing the borough to visibly decay into neglect and blight. The disconnect between what residents pay and what they receive is indefensible.<br>Public Works is grossly deficient, with routine maintenance ignored across the borough. Even more alarming is leadership's tolerance of multiple abandoned and neglected properties--some appearing condemned or long vacant--that have been permitted to fester without meaningful intervention. A vacant property registration ordinance exists, yet enforcement is nonexistent, exposing the failure to combat blight as deliberate neglect rather than oversight.<br>The Borough Clerk's office compounds the dysfunction. Staff routinely demonstrate incompetence with basic administrative tasks and modern technology, creating delays and frustration for residents attempting to obtain permits or file complaints.   I have contacted nearly every oversight agency possible because the conditions in this property have been ignored for far too long. There are ongoing leaks, moisture issues, and suspected mold, yet instead of properly addressing the situation, I was met with dismissive behavior, ignored complaints, and unprofessional responses.<br><br>I reached out to NJDOH, DCA, HUD, the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, civil rights offices, attorneys, a congressional office, and multiple agencies outside of this town because I completely lost confidence in the way this situation was being handled locally. Calls were hung up on, concerns were brushed aside, and basic tenant safety was not taken seriously despite repeated documentation and evidence.<br><br>Multiple issues and violations were overlooked locally that were later identified by the New Jersey Department of Health, which only raised more concerns for me about how this situation was being handled.   I called the Hasbrouck Borough,<br>Requesting information about the Woodland Park event reservation. The lady was extremely rude, sarcastic and had an attitude. I understand she was in a rush, but she could've just told me from the begging I would've called another time. I'm from Lodi and I'm not a Hasbrouck resident, but that doesn't give her the right to be disrespectful.
