Our group of 6 had a fabulous dinner at Matisse 167 last night. I hadn't been here in perhaps 10 years. That was a mistake. All the courses were spectacular. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere just lovely. Great spot for a special experience.

Go for chef testing menu and left full belly with amazing experience. Every single course felt like the chef was showing off in the best way. One of the best restaurants in New Jersey.

Very welcoming staff<br>Nice ambiance, we came in on a rainy day so sat inside which was very cozy,the outside seating looks very cool so if the weather allows -sit outside (reservations recommended).<br>The place is BYOB<br><br>We got to taste most of the menu<br>-Perchuto and Burrata salad- very light and refreshing<br>-Beef Tartar - the beef was very good but a bit too salty<br>-Ruben sandwich - fluffy bun, nicely prepared coldcut<br>-Burger with blue cheese - the patty was very good but the blue cheese was overwhelming .<br>-Venison Wellington - perfectly cooked meat and pastry, I really enjoyed it but here again a bit too heavy on the salt<br>-Grilled octopus pasta- perfectly grilled octopus,went very well with the pasta<br>-Creme brulee - delicious!<br>-Chocolate peanut bomb- my personal favorite,the dark chocolate and peanut is great paring<br><br>So overall we enjoyed the visit but the salt was a bit of a letdown because took over the wonderful ingredients at times. Solid 4.5/5

Place is absolutely out of this world. Had the prefixed 4 course meal. It was excellent and done to perfection. It is made with love by the Chef owner and this establishment will not disappoint you. The decor is phenomenal and will transport you to another place. The outdoor dining is quiet and very intimate. Food and service, top to bottom was impeccable. Would recommend to anyone that has taste in good food.
