    We live in a nearby community and heavily depend on the waterfront walkway to make our way up and down Edgewater, especially with our dogs.<br><br>No matter the size of the potential storm, this place lays down enough salt to make what Rome did to Carthage look cute by comparison. It is one thing to keep the waterfront clear, it is another entirely to indiscriminately bury the walkway in half an inch of salt, with mixed results at best I should add.<br><br>Once the snow falls, the walkway becomes impassable to us and countless other households with pets who utilize it. Several times we've tried, and the mixture of salt and ice begins to burn our pets' paws.<br><br>There are plenty of other solutions: Plowers, sand, selective salting. You don't need to lay down enough to turn the Hudson into the next Dead Sea.
