  Very disappointing experience with the leasing office. My boyfriend and I were interested in relocating to Bergen County because of his job in the city, and we reached out about an apartment. Unfortunately, the leasing process was immediately met with unnecessary barriers.<br><br>I was told our incomes could not be combined because we are not married, and that my boyfriend would need to meet a specific base salary requirement. I was told to call back once I knew the exact amount he makes, but no real guidance was provided.<br><br>I also explained that my boyfriend is a veteran and works as a canine handler with a working dog required for his employment, but there was no willingness to discuss our situation.<br><br>For an average apartment, the process felt unnecessarily complicated and unwelcoming. I understand properties have requirements, but the lack of communication and flexibility was disappointing. We decided not to move forward.

  Application process is absolutely horrible. You would think you're applying for a luxury condominium when the apartments are not newly renovated.
