Dr. James Noble Presents: "What's New In Dementia? From Diagnosis To Treatment"

Please join us at the library for a presentation on Dementia from Demarest Resident Dr. James Noble, author of "Navigating Life With Dementia." Dr. Noble is pleased to return to the library to provide an update after his last presentation in 2023. Dr. James Noble, a resident of Demarest for 17 years, is a Professor of Neurology in the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and the Aging Brain at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. His clinical, research, outreach, advocacy, and education efforts are focused on lifecourse modifiable risk factors of cognitive aging. At Columbia he is co-director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and also leads several large research programs all funded by the National Institute of Aging (of the NIH). He co-edits the standard text Merritt’s Neurology and authored the caregiver handbook “Navigating Life with Dementia” (Oxford University Press/American Academy of Neurology), which is available at the library. Aside from the print version, it is available as an e-book, an audiobook personally narrated by Dr. Noble, and has been translated into Polish. He is currently developing updated editions of Navigating Life with Dementia and Merritt's Neurology, and both are expected for publication in 2028. In 2010 he co-founded Arts & Minds, a non-profit organization which provides art-centered museum-based programs to persons with dementia and their care partners. Programs are all free and available online and in-person throughout New York City. Dr. Noble is pleased to return to the library to provide an update after his last presentation in 2023.
