  D'avant Bakery offers delicious, high-quality pastries and breads. The croissants, twisted donuts, and European-style breads were fresh, flaky, and flavorful, and the cakes looked beautiful and tempting.<br><br>However, compared with the Edgewater location, this bakery offers a noticeably smaller selection, so there are fewer choices to explore. Another downside was that the air conditioning was set extremely cold, making it uncomfortable to stay and enjoy coffee and pastries for very long.<br><br>Overall, it's still a great bakery that I would recommend. With a wider selection of baked goods and a more comfortable indoor temperature

  I purchased a mango strawberry cake from this bakery today, and unfortunately I found a black substance inside the cake that did not look like a normal fruit ingredient. I was concerned that it could potentially be mold or some type of contamination, so I called the bakery immediately to ask for clarification and guidance.<br><br>Instead of helping me understand what the substance could be or addressing my concern about whether I may have consumed something unsafe, I was told that I needed to drive about an hour back to the bakery and bring the cake in for inspection. I understand that they may need to see the product, but I do not think it is reasonable to place the entire burden on the customer--especially when the customer is the one who purchased the product and is concerned about their health and safety.<br><br>The response I received was that the cakes are made fresh daily and that the substance could possibly be from a fruit.
